Practice Direction 2 of 2026 

(1) This Practice Direction is issued pursuant to Section 592 of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 (the Act). This Practice Direction applies to all Criminal Division proceedings filed with the Children’s Court of Victoria (the Court), other than CAYPINS matters, with effect from 30 June 2026.
(2) The following Practice Directions are revoked:
No. 1 of 2026, 
No. 2 of 2025,  
No. 2 of 2023, and  
No. 3 of 2016.

Practice Direction 1 of 2026 (REVOKED) 

This Practice Direction establishes the listing requirements where the Children’s Court of Victoria has–
(a) no summary jurisdiction; or
(b) restricted summary jurisdiction–
and where a child is alleged to have committed any of the relevant offences on or after 27 February 2026.
