CMS Portal for the Criminal Jurisdiction Available from 10 March 2026

Important changes are coming in 2026 to how Victorian legal practitioners engage with the Children’s Court of Victoria for criminal matters. 

On 10 March 2026, the Case Management System (CMS) Portal will go live for the criminal jurisdiction. This portal will be the single point for criminal case management and accessing essential information from the Children’s Court of Victoria. 

The CMS Portal introduces a streamlined, self-service online experience designed to enhance efficiency and accessibility. Key features include: 

• Electronic case initiation and document filing
• Digitised case records and case details
• Downloadable court orders and automated notifications
• Access to the Court’s diary for listings.

The CMS Portal is already in use for the Child Protection jurisdiction with the CMS Portal help centre located here. Building on this success, the criminal jurisdiction rollout marks the next step in modernising court processes. 

In the lead-up to the March 2026 launch, information on user onboarding, information sessions, support resources and the switch from eDocs will be provided to ensure a smooth transition.
