CMS Criminal Release

The new Case Management System (CMS) for the criminal jurisdiction

The Children’s Court of Victoria will transition to the new Case Management System (CMS) Portal for the criminal jurisdiction from Tuesday 30 June. 

What the CMS Portal will deliver

The CMS Portal for agencies and legal practitioners will become the prescribed channel for managing criminal matters and accessing key information from ChCV and MCV. It introduces more modern, streamlined digital capabilities.

Key features of the CMS Portal include:

• Electronic case initiation and document filing
• Digitised case information, including case records and supporting materials
• Downloadable court orders and automated notification 
• Access to court listings and scheduling information

Transition arrangements

Existing systems and processes will continue to operate as normal up to and including Thursday 25 June. 

Listings

To support a smooth transition to CMS Crime, non-sitting days will be scheduled for Friday 26 June and Monday 29 June and adjustments will be made to listings immediately following the go-live date. Court users will be contacted if any changes are made to their hearing.
