Multi-disciplinary Training

Following recommendations of the Child Protection Proceedings Taskforce in 2009 the Victorian Government made funding available for a multi-disciplinary training initiative.  Since 2010 a series of training and development events have been made available.

Who is the training for?

The training is for child protection staff of the Department of Health & Human Services, the Child Protection Litigation Office, Victoria Legal Aid, the Children's Court and private solicitors and barristers practising in the Children's Court.

What's planned for 2016?

A number of sessions have been scheduled in the 2016 calendar of events.  They include:

  • Good Practice in the Children's Court
Sessions on topics including professional ethics and representation of children.
  • Amendments to the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005
A session on changes to the Act taking effect on 1 March 2016

Pages including details on each of the above events are available via the left-hand menu.
