Multi-disciplinary Training

Following recommendations of the Child Protection Proceedings Taskforce in 2009 the Victorian Government made funding available for a multi-disciplinary training initiative.  Since 2010 a series of training and development events have been made available.

Who is the training for?

The training is for child protection staff of the Department of Health & Human Services, the Child Protection Litigation Office, Victoria Legal Aid, the Children's Court and private solicitors and barristers practising in the Children's Court.

What's planned for 2017?

The Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA) will deliver a one-day program which addresses the critical issues facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families in the child protection system. The program has been delivered in Mildura, Shepparton and Warrnambool.  Sessions are scheduled to be held in the Latrobe Valley and Melbourne CBD.

Further details are available via the left-hand menu.
